Get Ready for the Race Card Wedge Issues And Reverend Wright

The most disgusting and vile thing about John McCain is that in truth he is a closet racist and demagogue. There, I said it and I believe that you have no farther to look then the friends he keeps and the groups he tolerates to do his dirty work for him.

It's not that I'm surprised by this. The Republicans and the right know that they have a lot to lose. An Obama presidency may mean that many of there leaders could eventually end up behind bars. Where, as many of us know, they really belong if there is such a thing as true justice in this country.

I don’t know about you but the last few days we seen the subtle beginning of what I think is the playing of the final cards in the McCain deck. Namely the race, wedge issue and return of Reverend Wright cards. The one thing about all this activity is that it always has a subtle tinge of race batting or overt racism in the story line. It’s the old Rovian road to victory. Smear them and confuse them. If you can’t beat them on the issues then anything is considered acceptable to obtain victory.

It's never done up front of course. Rove started out his career smearing Governor Ann Richards of Texas. Claiming back then she was a lesbian by passing out anonymous fliers at mega churches in Texas in the election that first gave us Governor George W. Bush.

More and more McCain third party and 527 groups are starting to appear on the web. Rush Limbaugh now claims that Obama is an Arab. The NRA starts a massive “Obama is going to take your guns away" campaign. These folks are scared and getting desperate and they are increasingly these days aiming their lies at their fellow racists, bigots and right wing nut jobs and the Christian right.

I expect the very worst directly from McCain or his shadowy backers in the run up to Election day and, I can only take action to fight back and hope and belief that this type of demagoguery and lies will be rejected by the American people.
