Suicide Girls Call Crisis Clinic

"red slavics"

(Portland, Oregon) Flash! Young women seen naked on porn site claim male web site owner exploited and lied to them and when they complained he told them to hit the road. “Pimp” apparently even refused to return negatives and continues to use their photos to make big money.

I know it’s hard to believe in this day and age that young women would willingly let themselves get into such circumstances, but that’s just what happened to a number of young hip and progressive young women who posed on the site and built their life style around the extremely popular internet “alternative” porn site know as “Suicide Girls". The site was considered alternative because of it unique woman friendly reputation. No bimbo boob job blonds here. Just the angst-ridden young stealthy, toned, pierced and tattooed maidens having a little rebellious erotic fun and getting paid for it. Who am I to judge? Yes I had a membership at the site and got some cheap thrills out of leering at the young babes photos from time to time from the safety of my home-based computer. Well I’m an “artist” for God sake! I was looking for new material and SG inspired me Okay!

The site features 75,000 photos of nearly 800 attractive young women, who in most cases represented alternative life styles like “Punk, Alternative Rock or Goth”. It also takes the phrase “nice tattoo” to new heights. The site was getting over 300,000 hits per week in 2003 according a newspaper article in the Portland, Oregon based Willamette Week at that time. The article talked glowingly about the phenomenon and the success of the Portland, based Suicide Girls website. You’d think that in two years the popularity of the site has only skyrocketed. Especially after Playboy, Spin, Revolver, Gear and the New Yorker magazines did stories on the site’s femme fatal uniqueness at one time or the other. Identifying it as a mix of the “mainstreaming of punk rock and pornography”. Many of the women appeared in erotic “lesbian couple” or group photo “sets” of photos or videos. But more often the photo sets featured the young women hipsters alone in various states of artistic or provocative nude play-acting. Most of the women were artistically and tastefully tattooed from breast to buttocks or head to toe. The buzz on the website was that it was run by a woman, who identifies herself publicly only as 26 year old “Missy”. Real name Selena Mooney. She ran the website for the benefit of women like her and the site specifically was run so young women who felt comfortable being erotically posed as naked exhibitionists could make money showing off on the internet and be able to do so in a supportive and sometimes female erotica friendly atmosphere. In fact the site promoted the image of a “Suicide Girl’s Army” involved in a substantial part of the creation of the public ambiance of the website. The actual owner of the site is a man. known as “Spooky” on the site and who’s real name is apparently Sean Suhl, a 29-year-old Hampshire College dropout who moved in early 2001 to Portland from Los Angeles, where he had worked designing websites for entertainment companies like HBO. Other site partners allegedly include Steve Simitzis and his wife Olivia Ball, programmers for the site, and Peter Luttrell of 3jane.com, where Suhl is the VP of Creative Services. Suhl with Missy acting as front woman pushed the image of female empowerment of young beautiful women embracing their nubile sexuality. Lets face it; today this type of hedonistic behavior is widely accepted by many young adults women and men as being totally acceptable. The image was great for business because it made potential and actual users of the site feel less concerned about potential exploitation of these young women. I certainly thought it was more pro woman when I visited the site. The presentations were done with an edgy, artistic and tasteful style. In fact many women at the site “blogged” on their individual SG based home pages about feeling empowered and being totally comfortable about showing off their bodies and being part of the ever widening “SG” scene. Some of the more popular girls even built followings and enjoyed a small taste of “rock star” type notoriety generated by the site.

The girls were apparently paid about $300 for each “photo set”, This plus whatever they could glean from participating in such things as “best of suicide girls” DVD’s, that are sold on the site, and the scene that was happen around the popularity of it all. Parties and rock shows. Trips out of town for personal appearances and promotions trips were apparently also offered by management to the more popular girls who were regularly filling the site with fresh content and going along with what management had in mind. So, apparently it is socially acceptable and hip these days to openly act like a “slut” if you’re so inclined. In fact some of these girls identify with the rebelliousness, freedom and going contrary to what’s expected of them by modern society. Can you say I’m “cool and hip” and beautiful and I’m a real “bad girl” a couple of times right here please.

But lately it seems that all hell has broken loose in the Suicide Girl’s World. Many of the most popular women on the sight have bail out. By some accounts 150 to 200 “models” have left the site in the last two years. 30 models have apparently left the site in the month of September alone according to information gathered from blogs I’ve read and written by “SG’s” who have departed. The women complain of poor pay or at the very least feeling exploited when they see the owners making large sums of money with the site and such things as Suicide Girls touring “burlesque shows” and the DVD sales. Complaints about the site reformatting and continuing to show photos of the women who’ve left have caused bad feelings. Shul has apparently threatened legal action against models who have gone public or blogged about grievances with the site or the general way they feel they were treated when working at SG. The main complaint seems to be that the site is not the feminist bastion of left wing liberated punk rock star empowered women it promoted media image purports it to be. Shul’s personal politics are also apparently at odds with those of most of the women. There are a number of stories of verbal abuse by Shul’s. Or Shul trying to control the personal content produced by girls on their own web pages. One ex-model known as “Dia” details an episode in her blog of Shul telling her and another girl that he thought the models were “all a bunch whores”! Not exactly what a young woman who considers herself to be a feminist likes to hear, I would venture to guess.

It seems that the problem the site is having with the models is that it projects one image to the public and there is an entirely different image that exist in reality, and that Shul is alleged to have somewhat of a tyrannical management style when dealing with the models. At least according to a number of former model’s blogs and other news sources I’ve seen like Wired News. Ms. Mooney the company spokesman denies there is a real problem and indicates it just a small number young somewhat wide-eyed and disgruntled former employees “trying to make trouble”. I’m sure that most of these young and idealistic girls feel foolish and cheated when they consider the large amounts of revenue the site and SG related enterprises have generate mostly at their expense. They only got some of the crumbs from the table when they were really the stars of the show and the reason for the site’s success. The shabby personal treatment they allegedly received from Shul apparently exacerbated the problems at SG. It may of all been a fairy tale. But, once again as so often happens in the “sex business” women end up exploited with men basically making all the money. Porn is worst then crack perhaps. But it all seemed okay with the SG girls because they seemed like they were having fun and were definitely in control of how they portrayed their rebellious life styles. The former models are now calling for SG subscribers to boycott the site and apparently taking steps to somehow create a website similar to SG that really does have the best interest of the women at heart. Better pay and freedom for all and lots more tattoos I hope. I hope they really do get the money and power and control they thought Suicide Girls would bring them.

But, I can hear your Mother now young lady. “What were you girls thinking for Christ sake”? Dad must have been, abusive, missing or dysfunction because otherwise he would of warned his daughter to be leery of people who ask you if you like to sign some sort of contract. Then get you naked to take photos for what really amounts only to about a third of month’s rent money. Then they pretend they really respect you when they really don’t. Use other exploited and underpaid women to make you feel at ease and then when they’re done with you call you a “whore” and send you packing.

No strikes you're out!

“Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully

as when they do it from a religious conviction”
Blaise Pascal

WA State Senator Pam Roach from South King County is always locked and loaded for bear when it comes to the issue of what to do with sexually violent predators in Washington State. "Let's face it, 100 years ago you'd get hung. So we shouldn't feel too bad about getting tough on sex offenders." She was quoted and saying in a Seattle Times article recently. I’m sure she just string them up if she could get away with it today. Funny thing is most people probably wouldn’t totally disagree with that. Sex offenders have become the modern equivalent of a class of evil sub humans that most people don’t care to even have to think about. They simply should be locked up in jails behind fifty foot high fences with razor wire on top guarded by snarling dogs and machine gun toting guards with orders to shoot and ask questions later. But most important these facilities should be located somewhere far away from “their” neighborhood or city. Perhaps at the North our South Pole? Better yet lets just shoot them and save the taxpayer some money.

Add to this the recent demonic news accounts about the Idaho case of predator Joseph Edward Duncan III and 7-year-old Shasta Groene and her family. This has created a call here in Washington State by citizens for even tougher laws to deal with such predators. Duncan by the way is from Washington and committed his first sexually motivated crime here as a teenager. Roach, one politician who knows a winning issue when she sees one, has already proposed the tough Washington 2-strike law (2 “sexual assault” offenses brings life sentence) be reduced to 1-strike. Or, no strikes you're out, I guess. You commit certain predetermined violent sex crimes and it’s life in prison scumbag.

Funny, because many women’s advocacy groups who deal with the victims feel that the one-strike laws would work to reduce actual convictions because victims are often the relatives or close family friends of the pretator and become more reluctant to report them to authorities if they know it means a life sentence. But Roach, as usual appears to be using the issue for political gain and not always looking at realities. She often uses the half cocked approach or “shoot from the hip” style before her brain get fully engaged. Something her constituents, who continue to elect her, apparently fined endearing.

Washington State has made real progress dealing with sexually violent predators during last 15 years after a slow start due mostly to the “political hot potato” nature of this problem. Most all politicians like the citizens they represent would rather not have to face the issue. Politicians fear they’ll be blamed if a predator should slip through the cracks in the system and assault, rape or kill new victims, Much like the Idaho case where Duncan apparently took advantage of a legal blind spot( out on bail for new offenses) and was in reality a “ticking time bomb”unmonitored and unable to control his urges to kill, kidnap and sexually assault new victims.

Historically speaking, in 1990 Washington State created the Community Protection Act, also known as the Sex Predator Law. The law allows the state to hold sexual predators for an indefinite period of time after their sentences have been completed if they were judged by civil courts to be a continued danger to society. The state started to do this and created a facility especially for such offenders at the site of the State Prison on McNeil Island near Tacoma, Washington where the offenders, in theory, where to be “treated” in the hope that they could be eventually release back into society. During this same period many of the professionals treating sex offenders around the country had begun to embrace the opinion that certain types of offenders where in fact not receptive to rehabilitation. They were more or less bound to offend again if released. This is one of the main reasons for the dichotomy we find ourselves in today. The offenders had served their sentences but could not be released back to society. The state agency in charge of dealing with these prisoners in reality ended up offering limited treatment and little chance or release, choosing instead to error on the side of extreme caution in the belief it was the only way to protect the community from the predator. This created a situation where the offenders were in effect just being “warehoused” at McNeil Island with little hope of every being released. Public defenders and civil rights groups protested and filed suits asking the court for relief based on the violation of their clients civil rights.

In 1994 a federal court judge, the late William Dwyer, ruled on a 1991 civil-rights lawsuit alleging that the constitutional rights of sex offenders who had served their criminal sentences and then were civilly committed under the Community Protection Act to the state's McNeil Island treatment center were being violated. The state was held in contempt for being slow to carry out the judge's order to provide sex offenders with adequate mental-health care and the opportunity to move to less-restrictive transitional housing, and the judge began fining the state $50 per day per resident at the treatment center. Currently that fine tallies in the millions of dollars and the amount is still growing.

Many years passed and much haggling took place, No public official in his right mind wants to deal with allowing a sex predator facility in his jurisdiction. Ordinary citizens in communities throughout the state would declared open warfare whenever it was suggested that such a facility be located in or near their neighborhoods. Believe me I know because I lived in one close to where the facility actually ended up. There was great “gnashing of teeth, rallies, meetings, leaflets, calls for the heads of local politicians, and even terror in the hearts and minds of nearly every man woman and child in the neighborhood. Most politicians typical reaction was to back their constituents and fight against such facilities or just ignore the problem altogether, hoping against hope that the problem would just go away. With the fines for contempt continuing to accrue and the order of the court still hanging over the state’s head the state legislature finally took action in 2002 to create some sort of plan. The new law targeted King, Snohomish, Thurston, Clark, Kitsap and Spokane counties for the creation of transitional housing facilities, where treatment was to be provided. After lots more finger pointing and several “not in my neighborhood” protracted battles in King County, a facility was sited in an old warehouse in a industrial part of central Seattle near 1st and Spokane Street. The facility opened September 7th 2005. It has a two-year operating budget of $3.7 million, and cost 1.7+ to build and renovate. I believe that the facility has just 3 residents so far. I’ll let you crunch the numbers on the cost per person. The offenders are closely monitored and supervised and even are monitored with GPS devices at all times.

As I indicated before Washington has made progress dealing with this most undesirable element of society. Quoting a recent Seattle Times article: “Since 1990 prison terms for sex crimes have doubled. Hundreds of the most predatory go straight from prison to a locked treatment center. Home addresses for thousands more are easily retrieved from a state Web site”. Statistic also shows that sex predators re-offending has been reduced. Sex offenders are now less likely then other types of criminals to re offend in Washington State. Mostly, I would think, because of severe restrictions place upon them by the new laws. Many are locked up or closely monitored in halfway houses or homes or otherwise in the rifle sites of the neighborhood vigilante group at any given time.

The state also has some of the strictest laws in the nation that require sex offenders to register. Their identities and location is readily available on the internet. Published by government agencies to warn citizens of the presence of a sex offender in their neighborhoods. This has lead to vigilante type reactions in several communities when word got out that a offender was moving into or living in the house down the block. In fact recently two sex offenders were shot dead in their residence by a Bellingham, Washington man claiming to be upset about the Shasta Groene case in Idaho. He also claimed he had been molested as a child. He openly admitted the murders in a letter to the Seattle Times shortly after the incident. I would suspect that some potential jurors here would perhaps think he was actually preventing future sexual assaults and be open to letting him get away with murder. Emotional and moral reactions like these are not uncommon when it comes to sex predators.

The city of Issaquah located just East of Seattle is considering a law that would restrict where offenders live in the city limits. It an attempt to further restrict their ability to re-offend. This will be just one of the hot topic in the state Capitol during the next session of the state legislature. A body that will be faced with new calls from the public to get tougher when it comes to dealing with violent sexual offenders.

The deeper question remains though. They concern the underlying causes of violent sexual deviancy and rehabilitation. Are these individuals just “broken human beings” who are doomed to be locked up away from society forever? Or can they be rehabilitated? Some obviously cannot be saved. But probably some can. Someday perhaps we will find a better way to treat and determine who the offenders are who are worth saving and who should remain confined.

Dealing with the sex offender problem is difficult because if brings out some of the worst emotions in people. Rehabilitating them so they can re-enter society or even looking at the facts open-mindedly sometimes is really not considered the first option. It seems more like a damage control, personal security, revolting, feeling of disgust, retaliation and, of course, never in my neighborhood emotions are always the feelings that win out with these offenders.

Meanwhile we continue to move towards a public policy that says, if you perpetrate a sexually violent crime in this society once. You will probably end up spending the rest of your life in jail.

Calling all weasels!

“Raise your glass to the hard working people
Let’s drink to the uncounted heads
Let’s think of the wavering millions
Who need leaders but get gamblers instead”
Jagger/Richard

Who can be really surprised by the indictment of house majority leader Tom Delay by a Texas grand jury today? Not me or, I suspect, lots of other “salt of the earth” folks he’s had bent over backwards for years. The "hammer" as he is lovingly called by his bottom feeding supporters calls it all a pinko plot. You can tell this guy is a “weasel” five minutes into any one of his sound bites. This guy is the same Tom Delay who tried to cook the house ethics committee rules to allow ex felons to have their convictions ignored when it came time to determine whether they should be booted out of the congress for committing felonious acts. At least for the ones that get caught.

His Delayness” joins the number of GOP “leaders” who ethics or competence has been brought into question recently most notably Republican Tom Frist the Senate Majority Leader who's suspected of pulling the same thing that sent Martha Stewart to jail for insider trading. The question has to be ask how did this Delay become the majority leader of the United States House of Representatives in the first place? Common sense should tell anyone that his power is for sale to the highest bidder in most cases. Maybe this prostitution of one’s self plays well in the lone star state but it shouldn’t be tolerate with officers of our federal government. Many of his contemporaries in the government apparently fear his wrath should they stand up to him and call for his long overdo kicking to the curb. That is unfortunate indeed.

So what did this right wing “wacko” do to get such a bad reputation. Let me list the ways? Here are the “dirty dozen” as provided by Alternet.org.

Delay Raises Corporate Cash for TRMPAC:

DeLay is embroiled in a scandal in Texas for his active participation in illegally funneling corporate funds to assist state political campaigns. DeLay's political action committee, Texans for a Republican Majority (TRMPAC), is under criminal investigation for using corporate money to finance Texas campaigns. DeLay has tried to distance himself from the group, but documents show DeLay "personally forwarded at least one large check" to the group and was "in direct contact with lobbyists for some of the nation's largest companies" on TRMPAC's behalf. [Source: NYT, 3/10/05; Salon, 10/04/04]

Delay Bribes Congressman to Vote for Medicare:

DeLay has admitted offering to endorse Sen. Nick Smith's (R-Mich.) son Brad, who was running for Congress at the time, in exchange for Smith's "yea" vote on the Medicare bill. His actions violated House rules and earned DeLay a "public admonishment" from the Ethics Committee. Smith originally alleged – and then retracted after pressure from House leaders – that DeLay also offered a $100,000 bribe for his vote. DeLay extended the role call on the Medicare bill for nearly three hours in order "to avoid an embarrassing loss." [Slate, 10/1/04; WP, 10/1/04]

Delay Uses Taxpayer Money for Partisan Stunt:

The House ethics panel rebuked DeLay for using government resources to help locate a private plane he thought was carrying Texas Democratic legislators. DeLay was trying to force the legislators back to the capitol so he could push through his "bitterly disputed congressional redistricting." The ethics report cited House rules that bar members from taking "any official action on the basis of the partisan affiliation...of the individuals involved" and said DeLay's behavior raised "serious concerns under such "standards of conduct." [WP, 10/7/04]

Delay Pays for Golf Tournaments with Cash Meant for Kids:

DeLay used a children's charity, Celebrations for Children Inc., as cover for collecting soft money from anonymous interest groups, some of which was used for "dinners, a golf tournament, a rock concert, Broadway tickets and other fundraising events" at the Republican convention in New York. Because the money was supposedly for charity, companies wishing to curry favor with DeLay were able to do so without revealing themselves as campaign donors. Federal laws governing tax-exempt charities allow no more than an insubstantial portion of a group's revenue to be spent on activities other than the charity's main stated purpose. [CBS, 11/14/03; WP, 3/24/04]

Delay Promises 'Seat At Table' for Donor:

In one of its three public rebukes, the House Ethics Committee cited the belief on the part of executives at an energy company, Westar Energy Inc., that a $56,500 contribution to a political action committee associated with DeLay would get them a "seat at the table" where key energy legislation was being drafted. DeLay also participated in Westar's golf fundraiser at The Homestead resort in the summer of 2002, " just as the House-Senate conference on major energy legislation ... was about to get underway." [WP, 10/7/04]

Delay Takes Money from Texas Prison Company with Legislation Pending:

DeLay took a $100,000 check from a private prison company: The Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) – at a fundraiser for his children's charity, the DeLay Foundation for Kids. CCA – whose 20-year history has been "fraught with malfeasance, mismanagement, and abuse" – was part of an ongoing lobby for a bill that would privatize up to half of Texas's jails. DeLay is known for wielding major influence over the Republican-led legislature that will decide on the matter. [Knight Ridder, 11/30/04; Texas Observer, 6/6/03]
Delay Blocks Legislation for Partisan Vendetta:

In 1999, DeLay received a "private rebuke" for threatening retaliation against the Electronic Industries Association when the trade group named a Democrat to head its Washington operation. To punish the group, DeLay stopped two uncontroversial trade bills that would have benefited the EIA and told the association it would lose all GOP access unless it hired a Republican instead. The group still hired the Democrat, but a little later, the EIA quietly hired a former House Republican staff member who promptly showed up at a fundraiser for DeLay's ARMPAC. [Texas Observer, 2/4/00; Slate, 12/5/98]

Delay Takes Shady Donations for Legal Defense Fund:

The list of recent donors to DeLay's legal defense fund includes two lawmakers placed on the House Ethics Committee this year (they replaced conservatives who were purged for being critical of DeLay), and corporations implicated in DeLay's alleged fundraising violations. Corporate donors include Bacardi U.S.A., the rum maker that has also been indicted in the Texas investigation, and Reliant Energy, "another major contributor to a Texas political action committee formed by Mr. DeLay that is the focus of the criminal inquiry." In December, DeLay was forced to return funds from registered lobbyists because those contributions violated House ethics rules. [NYT, 3/13/05; Time, 3/13/05]

Delay Leaves Ethics Behind On European Vacation:

DeLay enjoyed a luxurious vacation at the Four Seasons Hotel in London in mid-2000, paid for by an Indian tribe and a gambling services company, both of which opposed gambling legislation DeLay voted against two months later. The payment was funneled through lobbyist Jack Abramoff, best known for teaming up with right-wing religious fundamentalist Ralph Reed to close down a Texas casino operated by the Tigua Indians in 2002, then persuading the tribe to pay the two of them $4.2 million to lobby Washington lawmakers, including DeLay, to reopen it. According to expense accounts obtained by the Journal, Abramoff financed DeLay and DeLay's staff's stay at the Four Seasons hotel to the tune of $4,285.35. The total reimbursement for expenses in London was $13,318.50. [WP, 3/12/05; Raw Story, 2/25/05; WP, 9/29/04]

Delay Leaves House Rules Behind on Asian Vacation:

DeLay accepted an expense-paid trip to South Korea which, in direct violation of House rules, was paid for by a South Korean lobbying group. The Korea-U.S. Exchange Council, a group registered with the Foreign Agents Registration Act, was created with help from DeLay's former chief of staff. The cost to send DeLay, his wife and three of his lawmaker friends to Seoul for three days was $106,921, the fourth largest cost for any single trip taken by lawmakers between January 2000 and September 2004. [WP, 3/10/05]

Delay Kicks Ethics out of House:

DeLay and his allies in the House have sought to cripple the House Ethics Committee. The committee, which rebuked DeLay three times last year, was purged of its most "responsible" members last month and is currently "paralyzed" by a proposed rules change that "would prevent the committee from launching any investigation without the support of at least one Republican-a restriction designed to protect the majority leader." [WP, 2/5/05; WP, 10/7/04; Time, 3/13/05]

Delay Tries to Change Rules to Protect Power:

DeLay was the driving force behind the decision by House leaders to abandon an 11-year-old party rule that "required leaders to step aside temporarily if indicted." The idea was dropped only after rank-and-file lawmakers complained "the party was sending the wrong message." [NYT, 11/18/04; WP, 3/11/05]

This kind of behavior should not be tolerated no matter what political party or politician sewer district it oozes up from. The President and Republicans leaders (who are not pending indictments themselves) should show some backbone and call for Delay to resign his seat in the congress now! He’s a embarrassment to the country and the institutions of government he is supposedly sworn to uphold and protect.

Ask your doctor (and drug company) to kiss your ass!

Isn’t everyone a little sick of the endless line of commercials, especially set around the evening news hour, asking us to “ask your doctor”? Ask our doctor what? “Doctor I feel fine, but do you think I need a pill for the “pain in my ass” I get every time I think of the drug pushing pharmacy companies and the outrages prices they charge for drugs that often have dangerous side effects or perhaps aren’t really needed. Now that be a good pill to take. I don’t know about you but I’m going to be a little cautious if and the end of the commercial they quickly add that one of the side effects is your possible death. I remind you that a jury believed this is what exactly happened when the handed down their verdict in a case against the giant drug company Merck and the drug Vioxx. It also seems that more and more of these “faulty” drugs are reaching the market today with more and more lawsuits. Perhaps this is due to the fact that the FDA is more then willing these days to allow drugs on the market that carry so many dangerous side effects. Only later to be recalled after they have wreaked havoc on the lives of the people who apparently “asked their doctor” the wrong questions. Could there be a connection between the Bush administration’s connections to these same drug companies politically? It’s also a well-known fact that most doctors are heavily influenced by drug company salesmen who win their favor with expensive perks, lobbying and free samples to pass on to their patients.

I suggest that you don’t ask your doctor. That instead you ask your elected representatives why the United States remains the only developed Western country that does not provide some sort free and comprehensive “universal health plan” for it’s citizens. The benefits of this would be enormous in that people would be able to practice “preventive medicine” instead of show up at the hospital needing emergency care for illnesses that they could not afford to go to the hospital to treat before it became an emergency. Yes, a national health plan that would help control the skyrocketing cost of drugs and medical care that we all see in this country today. Many experts and corporations now are coming around to the belief that it's imperative that America have a national health plan of some kind in the near future to control the every rising tide of healthcare costs that companies know to be one of their major labor related costs and which effects their bottom line directly. It is necessary to keep American business completive in the global market and to keep companies from “out-sourcing” their operations to the third world where they pay little of no cost related to employee health coverage. Yet the Bush Administration and medical lobby, made up of mostly insurance companies, doctors and hospitals, remain defiantly against meanful change in this area. Working people continue to suffer due to this total lack of vision on the part of our government leaders.

The last thing is that Americans need to stop getting fat and lazy. They need to have some sort of epiphany about their personal health choices, fitness and diet. Maybe this could happen if the government helped make it a national priority. Need I go into the problem with rampant obesity and other poor health indicators that we hear about almost daily? Americans have to wake up and realize that America is fast becoming one of the most drugged and unfit societies on the planet.

Rather then asking your doctor, you should ask yourself some tough questions about your government’s role and your role in staying healthy. Or better yet asking your doctor about what his position is on universal healthcare and prescription drug abuse.

"I hope you die and your death will come soon"

driving habits to save gasoline. Is this man a genius or what? What the tar nation do you think most working people have been doing since gas surged over the $3.oo per gallon mark this Summer? Maybe he should have VP Cheney take the bus to the hospital for the knee operations. Or not drive around in his gas guzzling Ford pickup in Crawford while he's clearing brush and "smoking Osama out of his hole". What's with these "frat boys" anyway? Bubble boy you know we can't print money at will like you apparently think you can to underwrite the $200 billion being squandered away or being stolen in Iraq or to write blank checks for Katrina relief to get back on the good side of red state conservatives. He also say we should restrict our travel as he promptly flies off for another photo opportunity in Texas to somehow make us believe he actually has a clue about what the hell is happening in this country or in Iraq or anywhere. There can be little doubt that this administration has demonstrated total incompetence and a sort of “Alice in wonderland meets the Animal House” mentality when it comes to dealing with the numerous problems we find our nation facing today. John Beluchi plays Cheney in my version.

Where has this administration been for the last four plus years when it should of been moving the country towards making America energy independent? Nowhere is the answer. Not when it was a conflict with his family business ties and his buddies in the oil industry. Can you say SUV? It's the same old outmoded prehistoric vision with this bunch . The president may of been more appropriately asking for sacrifice from the American people in the direct aftermath of 9/11. But, no! Instead he told us to go shopping. Apparently they thought the oil would be flowing openly from the spoils of their "they'll be throwing flowers at our feet" war in Iraq.
We'll be lucky if have a nation by the time these people get done at the rate we're going.

And by the way. Where the f--k is Osama George?

Where is Osama Day 1460+

Here's the list of politicians and pundits and what they did when it was their turn to "serve their country". Funny how the ones who "did not serve" are the bumbling blow hards now most often calling for young men and women to "do their duty" and go off and die in this unfortunate boondoggle of a war in Iraq!

War what is it good for?

The war in Iraq is wrong headed. The death of one American soldier has not yet been justified by the reasons yet put forth by this government surrounding the preemptive Iraq war.

Wake up America! How many of America's brave young people must die or civilians be killed in Iraq before you understand the total absurdity of this war. There are no WMDs. There was no direct connection to Al Qaeda before the war that any respectable person can establish. Iraqis are not throwing flowers at our feet as liberators as many in the Administration envisioned. This will not make the Middle East a bastion of capitalism or of democracy or freedom. It has not made Iraq the “centerpiece” of the war on terrorism? Iraq with the bastard Saddam Hussein in power was not a direct threat to the security of the United States. But, Iraq is now become a threat to us because of the incompetence and war mongering or our leaders. Who have managed to bog us down in a protracted war there.

Iraq has become the centerpiece of American geopolitical egocentric political bullying, bravado, diplomatic impotency and incompetence. Not to even mention the numerous military miscalculations brought on by defense department and the Administration ideo-logs over ruling career military experts. Who warned that more troops were needed to win the peace in Iraq or that going to war in Iraq was a flat out mistake.

Does the moral high ground of Abu Grab prison, Guantanamo, and Halliburton make us better off now then when we were considered that this nation is suppose to set the example as a champion of constitutional rights and the protecting and promoting human freedom?

This war is one of the biggest blunders by an American President in modern history. In the end history will, I’m sure, show this to be true, whether you see it now or not. It took years for Americans to finally realize the mistakes made during the conduct of the Vietnam War. Sadly enough this will end up being a similar experience I fear. What we appear to have here is a quagmire with no real winner or loser. Followed by decades of heartbreaking human tragedies. Concluding with a broken military leadership and a demoralized American military similar to the situation after Vietnam.

On this President's watch America was rush into a war where it has sent brave Americans to die without the necessary training and equipment or an exit plan to properly protect them or reduce the danger to them. But, the Administration remains in every lasting cover-up and denial about this, bordering on total incompetence.

How many billions of dollars of American treasure has been wasted on this war made by and for the ruling and religious elite classes of this country? Billions of dollars that could build that new school, hospital, fire station, or community center down the street from your house. Billions that could be spent on making America safer from the real terrorists we know are somehow out there still on the loose. Billions that could have been spent feeding and housing our poor or providing an education to someone who otherwise would not be able to receive one. Billions to pay down the record deficits or help stabilize entitlement programs. Billions to provide healthcare for millions of Americans who cannot afford coverage. While Rome burns Bush and America continue to fiddle. Funny how the poor always do the fighting and dying and the Rich classes always make the profits off these wars. But this war is somehow different were told. Ha!

Against the dire warnings of dedicated military professionals that not enough troops were being deployed to complete the mission properly in Iraq this administration decided to go forward. By their miscalculations they have put young men and women in harms way to die today in Iraq. Our troops have been reduced to this administration "cannon fodder" for the evening news "they died with honor segment". This is suppose to make us feel proud? Of what? Young lives being wasted? Hearts being broken, Children left without parents? American policies are despised around the world by our allies. Our enemies emboldened.

I don't want to feel proud about the mistake of a young person dying needlessly in an unnecessary war. The Bush administration’s "new world order" policy of pre-emptive war has help make the terrorists arguments to the world that America is the "imperialist world bully" plausible. Terrorism has increased because of the war in Iraq even by the Bush Administration's own estimates. Terrorism certainly has not been reduced because of this war. America has been distracted from the real job of protecting ourselves and finding the people responsible for 9/11 attacks. Where the hell is Osama?

As each day passes new revelations of poorly equipped, over stretched and over extended troops can be seen in the news. How dare these fools make excuses for not properly preparing our troops for combat? How dare they act sorrowful and patronize us with phony exhibitions of understanding. What do they know about what it must be like for a family to lose a loved one in this misguided war.

The President and Vice President are better known for their "malingering". If you don't believe that then you must be deaf dumb and blind. How can they ever be able to understand duty honor or sacrifice when you never had to experience it in your own life? Bush and Cheney were protected by their rich and powerful relatives and contacts from serving in real combat during a time when it was their opportunity to do their duty.

I say to these liars, manipulators, profiteers, frat boys and thieves, beware of history repeating and the enlightened people who will not be fooled forever. Like so many before you your days are numbered your fame and power are fleeting. Your pride, ego, breast beating and phony religiousness have made you stupid. This war has emboldened and invigorated our enemies and weaken our alliances with our traditional allies. It has put America at greater risk of attack. It has weakened our military.

I say to those who have lost a love one in the tragedy. I pray for my country to have wisdom and reject this war and the support of it and support our troops by working to bring them home as soon as possible. I am full of sorrow for you and my country. Your loved one has honored us all by performing their duty. Their names will be spoken when we think of the blessed. Their leaders have failed them.
